Are Drones Accurate? – For the common photogrammetry workflow, surveyors can count on accuracy of between 1 and 3 times the ground sample distance within the imagery collected by the drone. This is to say 1-3x the distance between the center of each neighboring pixel in the image, with typical processing software – so camera quality matters. Accuracy of .1’ or .2’ is possible depending on the terrain. If this is insufficient for the task at hand, drones offer a much quicker way to double-check a more accuracy-intensive job.
