The Remote Sensing Payload Instrument is a cutting-edge gas detection system designed for accurate methane monitoring using Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy. The system operates by emitting a 1.65 ฮผm laser, which reflects off surfaces and is captured by the onboard sensor. By comparing the outgoing and incoming signals with a built-in reference cell, the system detects methane presence along the laser path, calculating the gas concentration in ppmรm (parts per million multiplied by meter).
This real-time detection capability allows for instant data transmission to both the drone operatorโs remote control (RC) and UgCS software, ensuring seamless monitoring and reporting.
