FAA Part 107 Small UAS Recurrent Non-Part 61 Pilot online exam is live

The FAA has launched its online course and exam to meet the requirements of Part 107 remote pilot with an sUAS rating (14 CFR part 107).   Remote pilots holding a Part 107 certificate must complete recurrency training requirements every 24 months.  This is to both keep your certificate current, and to be sure you are up to date with any new regulatory changes.

In the past, an exam similar to the initial one was required to be taken an an authorized exam center. As of April 6th, however, a new course and exam has become live and you may take your recurrency exam via this site.  Be aware, that the actual regulations do not take effect until April 21st.

1. Head over to  https://faasafety.gov
2. Create an account if you do not already have one
3. Enroll for the free online training: ALC-677: Part 107 Small UAS Recurrent Non-Part 61 Pilots
4. You’ll then complete a training course that takes approximately 2 hours, after which you will be given an exam on the material from the course.

You will be given 90 minutes to take the exam and you can take the exam over as much as you need, but you will need to score 100% before the 90 minutes are up.  If this is not completed, you must re-take the entire exam when you log into the training again.
